Party for Raven's 2nd birthday

Raven and her sister Java are goldendoodles who love life and can jump like gymnasts.   At Raven's second birthday party she woofed her Frosty Paws treat, but was nice about giving Java a few licks.  And of course, there were sundry interested by-standers!

Happy Birthday, Simon!

Simon is four years old today, and did he ever enjoy his Frosty Paws treat! He finished the whole thing before Susan could get a picture, but was willing to pose once he was done! He's a major sweetie, along with his sister, Olivia. When we sang happy birthday, Olivia pushed her way in and stared at us, like "What about me??"

Cody's 7th Birthday

Cody turned 7 on July 10th.  He's our all around good guy who likes everybody.... provided they don't come on too strong.  Definitely more a lover than a fighter.  In the end he even left some Frosty Paws treat for his pals.

Belle of the Ball

Belle is an adorable Yorkie with big brown eyes that let you know exactly what she wants. For example, she was having none of the birthday party hat thing. Not only the LOOK, but she also screamed her outrage. So I took off the hat, and sang "Happy Birthday" while she worked on her Frosty Paws treat; and she let me know I was finally getting it right. Belle recently acquired a Yorkie brother, Milo, and she willingly shared her treat with him.

Sammy's 3rd Birthday

Meet Sam, our min pin mix. Like his brother Gabe (see our post dated January 14, 2009), Sammy loves the window seat and chose it to enjoy his peanut butter Frosty Paws. He actually turned 3 on August 11, but we overlooked him, so he got apologies and lots of hugs to make up for it.

Sam loved his Frosty Paws (would NOT share) but he was not going to eat it wearing his party hat. Once we took the hat off, he tucked into his treat with gusto.

Cuba turns 10

Cuba is the sweetest girl in the world.  Her 10th birthday is Oct 21st, but we goofed and celebrated today, Oct 4th.  She saw the Frosty Paws treat and was too smart to correct our mistake!  Anyway, Happy Birthday for all of October, Cuba!

Hate the hat!

" I'm an easy going fellow. I like to party. But this HAT... Not eating my birthday treat 'til you lose it, okay? I mean we had this conversation last year on my birthday and you're still with the hats."

So... we took the hat off and Cosmo tucked into his peanut butter Frosty Paws with gusto. He's four years old!

Three Birthdays This Week

We've had a busy week partying! Lucy the chihuahua mix, Cody the labrador retriever and Houdini the beagle all had birthdays. As you can see, all three tucked into their Frosty Paws treats as though they hadn't eaten in weeks. Lucy only weighs a couple of pounds, but she made the contents of her dixie cup disappear in minutes. Her tongue must have been frozen. Houdini ate the treat then started in on the cup itself. Had to pick pieces out of his teeth! Fortunately we got to him before he swallowed any.

Emmy turns three

Emmy's a good sport about wearing a party hat, but sharing her Frosty Paws with her playpals is not her idea of a birthday!  Happy 3rd, anyway, sweet Emmy!

Twin Bagels

Lady and Quinn are our beagle sisters; they're sweet as can be and share everything with one another.  We call them our twin bagels.   Lady was woofing her way through her birthday Frosty Paws when Quinn stood up to partake.

Atrayu turns 3!

Atrayu is one of a pair of Icelandic sheepdog brothers who are Doggie Den regulars. Today we sang happy birthday to celebrate his 3rd, and he reluctantly allowed the birthday hat routine in return for a delicious peanut butter Frosty Paws treat. You may be able to tell from the look in his eye that he was not sharing if he had to wear that stupid hat. Fair's fair.

Ebby turns 6 years old

Ebby is our coolest, calmest, most collected lab mix. She's socialable but kind of private. She'll only eat her lunch by herself, in a separate room, 'cause the competive commotion of other interested parties is beneath her.

When we put Ebby's birthday hat on, she lost interest in her treat and gave us the look you see. "You want me to wear WHAT?" After the photo we took her hat off and she proceded to taste her Frosty Paws. She's a delicate eater, so there was some left for her chocolate lab mix friend, Fern. Fern was most appreciative.

Molly the Lab's 1st Birthday

Molly was able to slurp her Frosty Paws treat in peace, though she did have attentive friends in Floyd the basset, Atrayu the sheepdog, Crosby the puggle, and Benny the cocker.

Zack the Handsomest Golden

Zack was 8 years old on Saturday and he's been coming to The Doggie Den since he was a puppy. He's the friendliest, most cuddly boy you can imagine. He was so happy to have his birthday Frosty Paws treat that he put up with the party hat without a single complaint! Zack loves everybody, plays with everybody and generally enjoys life to the fullest. We are so grateful to have him in our big dog play group!

Wally's 3rd birthday

Wally is a born party boy.  He loved his party hat, his birthday candle and, especially, his Frosty Paws treat.  His mom asked that he eat half of his treat, so his play pals shared in the bounty!

Happy Birthday, Samantha!

Samantha was three years old on March 19th! She was a little hesitant about her Frosty Paws birthday treat, taking only a few licks. Then her brother, Simon, helped her out by carrying the cup off into a corner and digging in. Samantha was not perturbed. She watches her girlish figure, and was delighted with the special attention. Simon and Samantha light up the small dog play area every Wednesday.

Little Duke's Birthday

Little Duke loved the birthday attention, but didn't think much of his Frosty Paws treat. However, he guarded it faithfully until Betsy the cocker spaniel managed to edge it away from him gently.

Happy 4th Birthday, Luke!

Luke turned 4 this week so we sang happy birthday while he enjoyed his Frosty Paws treat.  That's his sister
Molly in front of him, running interference.  If there's any leftovers, Molly's intentions are clear.  Then there's Peso the black and white chihuahua who just sighs and licks his lips.
